1. About these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of MentiMatch, including our websites, applications, mentoring marketplace, messaging, bookings, payments, identity verification, video sessions, transcripts, session insights and related services.
MentiMatch is owned and operated by Menti Group Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17483149, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. References to “MentiMatch”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Menti Group Limited.
By creating an account, booking or providing a session, purchasing a service, or otherwise using MentiMatch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. If you use MentiMatch for an organisation, school or other institution, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation. A person under 18 may use MentiMatch only through an authorised school or institution, or with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where permitted by us.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate, current and complete information, keep it updated, protect your login credentials and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless caused by our breach of duty. Accounts are personal and must not be sold, transferred or shared without our written permission.
4. The MentiMatch marketplace
MentiMatch provides technology that helps mentees, mentors, schools and organisations discover one another, communicate, book and conduct mentoring sessions. Mentors provide their services independently and are not employees, workers, agents or representatives of MentiMatch. Unless we expressly state otherwise, MentiMatch is not a party to the mentoring relationship and does not guarantee a particular outcome, match, availability or result.
Profiles, experience, qualifications and other information may be supplied by users or third parties. Although we may perform checks, we do not warrant that all profile information is complete or error-free. Users should exercise appropriate judgment before entering a mentoring relationship.
5. Mentor and mentee responsibilities
Users must communicate respectfully, attend sessions punctually, act professionally and comply with applicable laws, safeguarding requirements and MentiMatch policies. Mentors must describe their experience honestly, provide mentoring with reasonable care and skill, maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid presenting mentoring as regulated medical, legal, financial or mental-health treatment unless properly authorised to provide that service.
Mentees remain responsible for their own decisions and actions. Mentoring information is general guidance and must not be treated as a substitute for professional advice tailored to your circumstances.
6. Bookings, cancellations and payments
Prices, taxes, platform fees, credits, cancellation rights, refunds, mentor earnings and payout arrangements are shown during checkout or described in our Payment Terms. By submitting an order, you authorise our payment providers to collect the displayed amount. Separate payment-provider terms may also apply.
You must not attempt chargeback abuse, payment fraud, off-platform payment arrangements intended to avoid fees, or manipulation of credits, refunds or promotional offers.
7. Identity verification
We may require mentors or other users to complete identity, document, age, liveness or related verification checks. We currently use specialist providers, including Didit, to support these checks. You authorise us and the relevant provider to process the information needed to perform verification, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations and protect users.
Verification does not amount to an endorsement, employment check, professional accreditation or guarantee of a user’s suitability. Refusing or failing a required check may prevent account activation, restrict features, delay payouts or result in suspension while we review the account. Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
8. Video sessions, transcripts and AI-enabled features
MentiMatch may provide video sessions through third-party infrastructure, including Whereby. Where enabled and disclosed, sessions may be transcribed without recording the session video. Users must not conceal, interfere with or circumvent transcription notices or controls.
Transcripts, summaries, matching recommendations and other AI-enabled outputs may contain errors or omissions. They are provided for convenience and operational purposes, must be reviewed in context and must not be relied upon as professional advice or a complete record of a session.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use MentiMatch to:
- harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit or harm another person;
- share unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, infringing or harmful material;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent qualifications, identity or affiliations;
- solicit passwords, financial credentials or unnecessary sensitive information;
- introduce malware, probe security, scrape the service, overwhelm systems or bypass access controls;
- record, publish or distribute a session or another user’s confidential information without a lawful basis and any required consent; or
- use the service for fraud, sanctions evasion, money laundering or any unlawful purpose.
10. Content, confidentiality and intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant MentiMatch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the service, comply with law and enforce these Terms.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for content you upload. Information shared during mentoring may be confidential; users must handle it responsibly and must not disclose it except with permission, where required by law, or where necessary to report a genuine safeguarding or safety concern.
MentiMatch’s software, branding, designs, databases and platform content are owned by or licensed to Menti Group Limited. Except as permitted by law or these Terms, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell or exploit them.
11. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties for functions such as payments, identity verification, communications, analytics, video meetings and artificial intelligence. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply. We are not responsible for a third-party service beyond the extent required by applicable law, but we remain responsible for our own obligations when selecting and using suppliers.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using MentiMatch at any time. We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected misconduct, protect users or the platform, comply with law, address non-payment, enforce these Terms or manage a material security risk. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond.
Terms intended to continue after termination—including payment obligations, intellectual-property provisions, confidentiality, limitations of liability and dispute provisions—will remain in effect.
13. Service availability and disclaimers
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may maintain, update, change or discontinue features. Nothing in these Terms excludes obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded, including services that must be provided with reasonable care and skill under applicable consumer law.
14. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of rights that cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to the paragraph above, MentiMatch is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill or data, or for the acts, omissions or advice of independent users. For business users, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of £100 and the total platform fees paid by that user to MentiMatch during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Consumer rights are not affected.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service, law or business operations. We will publish the revised version and update the date above. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will take reasonable steps to provide advance notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the law of your home jurisdiction. Otherwise, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
